In the last few years, there has been an increase in men wanting anti-wrinkle treatments. As a practitioner, planning a patient’s
treatment and product placement is different between men and women.
Masculine men have anatomical differences including their hairline location, bone structure, eyebrow shape and angles of the face. Compared
to a female wanting to create a softer feminine look, generally striving to achieve more arched brows, voluminous cheeks and a heart-shaped
face is the current trend. Men typically have thicker skin which is due to higher collagen composition and more vascular skin, increasing
the risk of bruising during injections.
But let’s talk about how much product men require versus women and how long the product lasts. Men have much higher levels of testosterone,
which results in increased muscle mass. Therefore, men generally do require more products than women to get the same result. In regards to
longevity, or how long a product lasts, that varies from person to person due to metabolism and lifestyle factors rather than gender
specific.
